Captain Eric started fishing from his playpen on his Dad’s boat. He grew up on the water and always knew that fishing would be his future. He started working as a mate when he was fourteen. He would use a “skiff” to commute to work. He worked on local boats out of Captree, New York and Freeport, Long Island.
When he was not working as a mate, he would use his own boat to pin hook stripers, sea bass, and fluke, and then sell them to local restaurants.
Captain Eric earned his degree from Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts. He began his career as a deck officer in the U.S. Merchant Marines. He has worked on various vessels for several months at a time sailing around the world, and fishing whenever he had the chance.
When he is not at sea he returns to Massachusetts to run his business, Bounty Hunter Charters.
Capt. Cory has been with Bounty Hunter off and on since the beginning, playing a large role in keeping the old Volvo running back in the early days. Capt. Cory earned his Captains License in the fall of '09 to act as the relief captain of the Bounty Hunter, and as second captain for multi-day offshore trips on the offshore boat that Eric will eventually purchase. Cory's specialty is stripers and blues, and he has landed numerous bass over 40 lbs from his private boat fishing Buzzards Bay and Narragansett Bay. He is Capt. Eric's right hand man and will surely give his best and then some on any charter he is running.
